Greetings!

Although the month is not over, the growing amount of leaves on the trees
is making birding difficult unless you are birding by ear. 😁. My May count
for both boardwalk and prairie combined was 105. I missed only a couple
reported birds. The only bird conspicuous in is absence is Prothonotary
Warbler...usually a pair will nest in he pond, but not this year.

The prarie is almost as lively in birds as the boardwalk.
This has been the best year for Chats that I have ever had. 4-8 daily.

Bobolinks are present, but hiding in the West part of the prairie.

Song, Field, Henslow, Grasshopper, Savannah, and Chipping Sparrows can be
heard all around the parking lot and drive. Dickcissels are being heard
right as you enter the property on 190. Vesper Sparrows we're also
reported around the same area, but I haven't heard them.

If you come, CR 190 is closed for bridge repair at SR 31, Use CR 200 as
alternate.

Happy birding and God bless,

Steve J.
