My wife Denise and I have birded together for over forty years. One of our Ohio nemesis birds has been the Black-necked Stilt, but no more!!! It is presently 12:40PM Friday afternnoon, and finally our pursuit has been rewarded. The previously reported Black-necked Stilt is in our scope view, becoming Ohio Life Bird #348 for us. The bird is located in the northeast corner of Sandusky County, just west of Pickerel Creek WA, and north of US6, on CR232 (Coonrod Road). Follow CR232 north past the hard left turn until you see a pastel colored green barn ahead on the right. Park at the first gate, walk to the right on the dike, and scan to the right of the barn in the flooded wetlands. The brown backed Black-necked Stilt is with numerous Northen Shovelers.
