Cindy Host & I visited Killdeer Plains yesterday. We arrived around 12:30
pm, & left around 8:30 pm. We had most of the birds that everyone has seen
lately except the Shrike. I was told the Shrike is more active in the
morning, so that may be why we did not see the bird. The Saw-whet Owl was
in its normal area SOOO Cute!! Below is a list of some of the birds seen
& approximate numbers
Killdeer Plains
Mallards-300+
Blue-winged Teal-4 pair
Shoveler- 7 males, 2 females
Redhead-120+
A Widgeon-300+
Wood Duck-3 pair
Horned Lark-6
Killdeer-4

Bald Eagle-Immature, 4 year old, 2 other adults

Bufflehead-3 pairs
Rough-legged Hawk
A Tree Sparrow-2
Greater Scaup-male, 3 females
Harrier-5 males, 3 females
