We've not yet seen the Broad-billed, but have picked up two distinct Rufous/Allen's hummingbirds coming in repeatedly. One definitely looks to be a Rufous, with a few replacement/retained orange feathers on the upper back. [...]45_15Sep201209:45: [log in to unmask] |

I visited Conneaut Harbor from about noon to 3 PM today and saw the following:
Sanderling - at least 4
Ruddy Turnstone - 1
Pluvialis plover - 2 (I would lean toward Black-bellied, but not sure)
Sterna tern - 2 (likely Common?)
Lesser Black-backed Gull - 1
Green Heron - 1
plus more common species.
I stopped at Berlin Lake (Stark County) (German Church Rd access) also and was there from 5 PM to 5:45 PM. There was more water than when I was there a couple days ago. And only 3 Lesser Yellowlegs for shorebirds. Quite a few ducks and a number of Great Blue Herons and Great Egrets.
