I was on the Marblehead peninsula in Ottawa County today. Although I was
always driving, I noticed here were quite a few turkey vultures heading
west. As I drove north past the Lakeside Daisy SNP at 11:45, one vulture
caught my eye. It was a BLACK VULTURE. I continued on to a better vantage
spot and saw there were actually two black vultures! They circled with the
turkey vultures in a thermal over the Lafarge Quarry before continuing west.
This is the first time I have seen black vultures in northern Ohio.
Since I am writing, I also want to mention that I have not received the
digested form of Ohio Birds for a few days now. I hope the problem is
corrected soon. I miss you folks.
