I visited Guilford Lake and nearby Salem Reservoir this morning, about 11AM. Even with the steady rain, and 40 degree temperature, the two remaining pools at these locations were smaller in size than they were on Friday. An interesting variety of birds still remained. Amazingly there were no Canada Geese or Mallards anywhere to be seen! Here is a list of the species present: Mute Swan~8, Gadwall~6, American Black Duck~1, Common Merganser~1 female, Ruddy Duck~2, Bald Eagle~2, American Coot~2, Ring-billed Gull~25+, and Herring Gull~3. On the home front are 6+ Pine Siskins daily.
