Today after work I headed up to O'Shaughnessy Reservoir to do a little bit
of advance scouting for the birding by kayak program tomorrow morning.
All of my observations were from land today but tomorrow (weather
permitting) they will be by kayak. I got up there around 5:30 and birded
until 6:45. Even though I had a pretty nice list going, I think we should
have more luck in the morning.
double crested cormorant
great egret
great blue heron
green heron
osprey
Cooper's hawk
turkey vulture
ring-billed gull
barred owl (heard only)
belted kingfisher
Eastern wood pewee
Eastern phoebe
American crows (attracted by the barred owl call)
Eastern bluebird
cedar waxwings (dozens)
