Second, I got to see the Yellow Crowns today! Yay! Dad was driving up to visit us so I went down to great him...of course I arrived 4 hours ahead of time...what should I do to pass the time..hmmmm.. I know I'll go check for Yellow Crown Night Herons. The mudflats are still increasing at the main Metropark. This morning we
had 4 spotted sandpipers. Killdeer count is still over 200, but we doubled
our count of probable semipalmated sandpipers to 2.
Lots of activity at the North Park on Old Springfield Rd.:
Blue grosbeaks
Yellow warblers
Orchard orioles
Willow flycatchers
Indigo buntings
Song sparrows
Belted kingfishers
Common yellowthroats
Vesper sparrow
Red-winged blackbirds
Brown-headed cowbirds
European starlings
Turkey vulture
Great blue herons
Canada geese
Mallards
Field sparrow
