On Saturday afternoon a single sand hill crane was easily viewable from behind the Buzzards Roost picnic shelter at Slate Run MetroPark in Canal Winchester. From the shelter looking across the pond the crane was feeding along the exposed mud on the backside. Distance about 300 yards, so nice looks with bins. No reason to think he won't continue to feed along there, making a easy spot to try for this species in the Columbus area.
