I went out in my yard early this morning to listen for 
Woodcocks.  I found a couple making a series of different
sounds (defensive cackle as it is described in Audubon on line
and the tuk tuk tuk notes).   They are in the shrubby border between
two fields…..almost to a dime in exactly the same spot that they
occupy every year.

So, if you are at nearby Frohring Meadows, expect to see them
displaying in the evenings.
