I am getting messages that this is unlikely.
All I know is, it was side by side with other, significantly smaller grackles, and had a large, spreading tail. The flock has moved away, and I have no pics, so make of it what you will.
I checked guides before posting, and it said the populations have been moving north and west, so I thought it wasn't so unlikely, but if it is, I will agree it is probably an outlier of the common grackle. Sorry!
