The miniscule woodlot at Lorain Impoundment's northwest corn
Hey all -
The miniscule woodlot at Lorain Impoundment's northwest corner was jumpin' just
a short time ago. I was able to spend only 45 min. here, but tallied a
surprising 17 warbler sp. - wish I could've stayed long enough to hit 20!
Highlights were Orange-crowned (2) and a cooperative Pine (rare fall bird along
the lakefront). 50 White-throated Sparrows, Gray-cheeked Thrush, Winter Wren,
and Dark-eyed Junco were other additions.
Waterbirds included a handful of common shorebirds, snipe (6), Sora (13),
Northern Shoveler (15), coot (3), and a good # of teal. Five American Pipits
livened the mudflats.
Good birding -
