There was a healthy nocturnal migration past our place in sheffield lake in the early am today. Warblers were streaming past in the bright lights from the high-rise and the #'s of swainson's and gray-cheeked thrushes were mind-boggling considering we saw next to none yesterday at magee - bobolinks, too. While a good night flight doesn't necessarily mean a lot of birds on the ground the next morning, lorain impoundment had a good number of new arrivals today - nothing too exciting, but other migrant traps may be better. A common loon was a late flyby. Last evening, I had a flock of 36 common terns whirling about the "backyard" and a flyby osprey and 36 more terns passed lorain today.
