Spent 3 hrs birding in South Columbus area.

The Merlin was still at Greenlawn Cemetery at around 1:30 PM in area R
North of the Central Mausaleum. It appeared to be the darker bird. This is
the first time I have been able to locate it in 2007 after several good
looks in 2006. Thanks to the unknown Gentleman who pointed me in that
direction. It remained in the tree for about 15 minutes and then flew off
North out the the Cemetary grounds.

Haul Road had the previous posted birds plus 2 Great blue herons Haul road
is the first eastern exit on highway 104 after getting on 104 from I71. A
small flock of gulls was also seen but I need some help with Gull
Identification. If anyone has any good references or is going on a "Gull"
walk please let me know. I would appreciate it.

Pickerington Ponds held few waterfowl but did have a flock of 15 Northern
Shovelers. Did not find the pintails as previously reported. 1 Kestril and
2 Redtails seen. The usual suspects were also seen.

Looks like Winter is to arrive this week. I wonder what new birds this
will bring.

Phillip North
