The Franklin's Gull is still around at the Old field beach along with about 200 other gulls (at 9:30am). It was pretty easy to find amongst the Ring Bills and Herrings. There were a couple of Terns around too, Forsters/common. I really enjoyed seeing the Franklin's Gull, it was pretty good looking. First it was messing around with a stick and a Ringbill was chasing it. Then it settled down and I could watch it very closely and get some good digi-scope pics. The bird is in its First Winter plumage, and still molting a little bit it looks like. Thanks Dan Sanders for letting me know it was still there (Dan saw it at 8 yesterday morning). It was a beautiful morning to see a neat state-bird. Also around was an Osprey, a number of Sanderlings, Pectorals, Killdeer, etc. The bird was still chillin' on the beach when I left at 10:40 am.
