I walked around Sheldon's Marsh at noon-time today. Most of the water
had a skim or more of ice but there were some open areas.

The new birds were a Great Egret and A Great Blue Heron.

The waterfowl included Canada Geese, Mallards, Northern Pintails,
Northern Shovelers, Blue-winged Teal, Green-winged Teal, American
Coots, and Black Ducks.

Other species were Turkey Vultures, Downey Woodpecker, cardinals,
Song Sparrow, Tree Sparrows (looked to make sure there weren't any
Chipping Sparrows), juncos, Blue Jays, Carolina Wren (heard singing),
Black-capped Chickadees, Tufted Titmouse, Common Grackles, and lots
of Red-winged Blackbirds singing.
