I stopped by Horseshoe Lake (Shaker Lakes) late yesterday afternoon.

Along with the usual wood ducks and mallards there were three green
winged teal.
Also, a juvenile black crowned night heron was hunting from an exposed
perch. I was able to get right next to him on the trail in the shrubs
and he was so
intent on his fishing that he didn't fly off.
