Howdy All!

Had a long, but nice day out birding with Kent Miller and Jim Miller. Here are
the highlights:

Hoover Reservoir:

Probable ROYAL TERN - from the dam at Hoover Reservoir between 7:15am - 9:30am.
From the looks at the bird I got today I am quite comfortable at least ruling
out Elegant Tern. I have no experience with Lesser Crested Tern. Between the
pics online and the pics in Harrison's Seabirds of the World, I am left wanting
more information. I am planning on coming back to Columbus tomorrow morning for
more looks at this bird.

Greenlawn Cemetery:

Pine Siskin - feeders at the Pit
Yellow-bellied Sapsucker - north and west of the Green Bridge
missed the Merlin in the trees by the mausoleum with the orange-tiled roof

Knox County:

Common Raven - seen twice; both times from near the West end of College Hill
Road; Bruce Glick reported seeing it earlier today from Reed Road near the farm
with the 3 silos close together

Pleasant Hill Lake:

Common Redpoll - calling fly-over near the boat launch area

Funk:

Sandhill Crane - calling fly-over birds (maybe 3? only saw one) near the
intersection of rt 95 & Funk Rd. Navigation is still a mess with closed/flooded
roads everywhere in this area.
