Today there was an extraordinary set of waterbirds at  Evans L. in E Mahoning Co.  A number of our area's birders were there this afternoon, with our combined efforts we found: blue-winged teal, lesser scaups, buffleheads, red-breasted mergansers, ruddy ducks, RED-THROATED LOON,  c. loons, pied-billed grebes, horned grebes, RED-NECKED GREBE, WESTERN GREBE, the 2 continuing AM. WHITE PELICANS, double-crested cormorants, great egret, red-shouldered hawk, Am. coots, Bonaparte's gulls, belted kingfisher, n. flickers, e. towhee, and purple finch.  Also today in E Mahoning Co. in  Poland Twp. were rusty blackbirds and purple finch.  Craig Holt, Lowellville
