Brad Sparks just called, and he was looking at a flock of 14 marbled
godwits, seen north of the Wood DUck Pond observation deck at
Pickerington Ponds. This is as far as I know a record number for
Franklin County, and an excellent spring record for Ohio, as Peterjohn
calls the species "casual to rare" at the season along the Erie shore,
and "accidental" in the interior of the state, with a high count of nine
in 1997.
