Was there this evening-safer to park on Brookside during heavy traffic.  Saw Green Heron, Coots, Pie-billed Grebe but no bitterns or rails.  Which part of the marsh were you seeing/hearing them?

Subject: [Ohio-birds] Least Bittern Cuyahoga

A single Least Bittern (heard) plus 4 Virginia Rails (one seen) at Brookside Road Marsh in Cuyahoga Valley NP today. At corner of Pleasant Valley Road and Brookside Road. Plenty of room to park safely off-road just after the intersection. Take care when birding from roadside. Best birded on weekends and early am and near dusk when traffic (from Pleasant Valley Road - 2 lanes) is light, in order to hear marsh birds.
