Hi all,
If I remember right, a few days ago someone posted a description on Ohiobirds of a grackle flying with a mouse in its beak. Well, just now I looked out our window to see a Common Grackle on the ground, pecking away at something that turned out to be a dead mouse. It flew off carrying the mouse in it beak, then returned to a branch where it proceeded to eat the mouse by pulling away bits of meat, looking like some sort of shiny black hawk...
I wonder if they're even allowed to do that in Cleveland Heights :-)
